Bench Time & Brews: Everything you need to know before you go.

Public saunas and steam rooms have been around for centuries and have evolved from what was once a necessity to a common leisure activity around the world. This unique experience is now available in central Minnesota!

Rugged Wellness MN is partnering with Bad Habit Brewing in St. Joseph, Minnesota to offer "Bench Time & Brews" public mobile sauna events this summer.

I'm sure you are familiar with what a sauna is and have likely experienced a version of one sometime in your life at the gym or in someone's home. However, this might be your first experience in a public sauna - and you likely have some questions about what to expect at a public mobile sauna event.

We've answered some common questions in the text below:

What is Bench Time?
Bench time is a reserved seat in our mobile barrel sauna during a public (or private) session. Depending on the event, "bench time" can range from 30 -90 minutes and can include transitions between hot and cold temperatures. If you would like a little extra space during your session, feel free to book a second seat!

What should I bring?
During your bench time sauna session, you should bring a swimsuit, 1-2 Towels (our sauna is bare-butt free, please), a robe for your comfort in public spaces, sandals, and drinking water. You should bring a change of clothes for when your session is over, so you can comfortably enjoy a brew.

I'm going to be super sweaty after the sauna, will there be a place to shower?
Yes! There will be an outdoor COLD shower available for use after your session. There will also be ice water buckets available to cool down between sessions.

Where do I change my clothes?
There will be outdoor changing spaces available. We will also provide you with a small tote to store your items while in the sauna. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items, so be sure to leave any special items at home or locked in your vehicle.

Are bathrooms available?
Yes, bathrooms will be available in the host site building. Shoes and shirts are required while in the building - please do not go in all sweaty; that's gross.

We hope this information is helpful as you plan for your first public mobile sauna bench time event. Please reach out to us if you have more questions about our Bench Time & Brews Events at Bad Habit Brewing. We look forward to seeing you there!
